If you look closely at this photo, you'll notice large bulges on the face of this warthog. These make it easy to tell that it's a male!

Did you know? These 'warts' are no accident. Male warthogs have much larger warts than females. Located under and in front of the eyes, and under the jaw, these growths are their natural shield, useful during fights and to impress their rivals.

The next time you come across a warthog, take a look at its face... You'll know if it's a male or a female!
