The dik-dik

The dik-dik, a small antelope measuring between 30 and 40 centimetres at the withers, is a master of stealth. Its colouring, which blends in perfectly with the tall grass and scrub, makes it virtually invisible in its surroundings. Preferring to remain motionless rather than flee at the slightest alarm, it often outwits predators. Faithful throughout its life, the dik-dik forms a monogamous pair, sharing its territory and responsibilities with the same partner until the end of its life.
