The cheetah cub is a small wonder of nature. From birth, the cheetah has a soft, thick coat with characteristic dark spots. Unlike the adult, the cheetah has a mane of longer hair on its back, which provides effective camouflage against predators in the tall grass.

The first few months of a cheetah's life are crucial. It is completely dependent on its mother for food and protection. The mother cheetah is an expert hunter and regularly brings in prey to feed her cubs. At around three months of age, cheetah cubs begin to follow their mother on the hunt, learning essential survival techniques through observation and imitation.

This learning period continues until they are about 18 months old. At this stage they begin to move away from their mother and become independent.
