After a good night’s sleep, we set off towards Samburu. Along the way, we had the chance to cross the equator while admiring the majestic Mount Kenya rising on the horizon.

Upon our arrival in the reserve, we were quickly filled with wonder. We encountered our first gerenuks, those graceful antelopes that stand elegantly on their hind legs to feed. A fascinating scene to witness!

We were also lucky enough to see our very first Grevy’s zebra, a rare and magnificent species with unique stripes, as well as our first reticulated giraffes, towering and graceful in their stride.

But what struck us the most was the breathtaking beauty of Samburu’s landscapes. The two-branched palm trees, characteristic of the region, stood proudly in this stunning environment. We also spotted vervet monkeys perched in these trees.

The day ended with a magical moment: an encounter with a cheetah mother and her three adorable cubs. We are fortunate to have the chance to see them again during our stay.
